Visa Services

The Government of Pakistan has discontinued the manual processing of visa cases with immediate effort. Now All visa applicants are required to apply through the online Visa portal only https://visa.nadra.gov.pk/ (copy the URL and paste it into your browser).

Beside the online requirements, the applicant must fulfill the following requirements as per their visa category:

  • Signed invitation Letter from host/ sponsor in Pakistan with Photocopy of host’s Pakistan ID, address & telephone number.
  • Employment verification letter or a letter of introduction from employer/educational institutions as the case may be.
  • If the purpose of the visit is trekking/ mountaineering, the applicant must provide an Invitation letter from a tour operator in Pakistan, a Registration letter of the tour operator, and the Trekking/Expedition permit issued by the Gilgit-Baltistan Council.
  • Last three month’s Bank Statement.
  • Proof of residence like State ID, Driver’s License, or one of the latest utility bills.
  • In case, a child is under 16, the Notarized Parents’ Consent form along with parent's current ID and child’s birth Certificate. (Parent’s consent form must be notarized).
*  Consulate may also ask you for some additional documents. 
Family Visa (for Pakistani Americans and foreigners of Pakistani origin and their spouses & children):
  • Copy of latest Pakistani Passport/CNIC/NICOP (valid or expired) of the applicant.
  • If an applicant does not have a Pakistani ID/Pakistani Passport of their own, they may provide a photocopy of their birth certificate along with a photocopy of their Father’s or Mother’s Pak ID/Pak Passport (valid or expired).
  • If the applicant is married to a person of Pakistan Origin, copy of marriage certificate, and copy of Pakistani spouse’s Pakistani Passport/CNIC/NICOP (valid or expired)
  • Children to attach a copy of their birth certificate along with one of the parent’s Pakistani Passport/CNIC/NICOP (valid or expired).
  • Proof of residence like State ID, Driver’s License, or one of the latest utility bills.
  • In case, a child is under 16, the Notarized Parents’ Consent form along with parents current ID and child’s birth Certificate. (Parent’s consent form must be notarized)
*  Consulate may also ask you for some additional documents. 
  • Recommendation letter from Chamber of Commerce and Industry of respective foreign country; or
  • Invitation letter from business organization duly recommended by concerned Trade body; or
  • Recommendation letter of BOI/Commercial Attaché of Pakistan /Head of Mission/SIFC; or
  • Letter of existing business.
  • Proof of residence like State ID, Driver’s License, or one of the latest utility bills.
* Consulate may also ask you for some additional documents*.
  • Recommendation letter from Chamber of Commerce and Industry of respective foreign country or Invitation letter from business organization duly recommended by concerned Trade body or Recommendation letter of BOI/Commercial Attaché of Pakistan /Head of Mission/SIFC.
  • Letter of existing business.
  • Recommendation of SIFC (Mandatory if applying for more than 01 year validity visa)
  • Proof of residence like State ID, Driver’s License, or one of the latest utility bills.
* Consulate may also ask you for some additional documents*. Subsequent Short term Entry Business/Investor visas shall be converted into long term Investor Visa as Extension on the basis of following documents;
  • Investment in Pakistan in the shape of ownership of real estate worth more than USD 100,000 (to be auto-verified by SECP/FBR in POVS); or
  • Investment in companies/partnership registered in Pakistan of not less than USD 50,000 (to be auto-verified by SECP in POVS); or
  • Balance in one or more foreign currency accounts in Pakistan of not less than USD 50,000 (to be auto-verified by SBP in POVS); and/or
  • Investment of any other kind in Pakistan of not less than USD 50,000 (data to be auto-verified by SECP/SBP/FBR in POVS); and/or
  • Recommendation of SIFC in POVS.
  • Invitation /sponsor letter on the letterhead from “Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore Pakistan “for a pilgrimage visa.  Alternatively, an invitation/sponsor letter along with a copy of the National ID card of a person or body in Pakistan is also acceptable.
  • Confirmed Hotel Reservation in Pakistan.
  • Employment Verification Letter or Copy of updated Resume, if applicable.
  • Student Verification Letter, if applicable.
  • Latest three months bank statement for proof of funds.
  • Proof of residence like State ID, Driver’s License, or one of the latest utility bills.
  • Proof of valid resident immigration status if holding anything other than a US passport.
  • In case, a child is under 16, the Notarized Parents’ Consent form along with parents current ID and child’s birth certificate. (Parent’s consent form must be notarized).
*  Consulate may also ask you for some additional documents. 
  • Original letter of invitation from a Pakistani citizen on Stamp Paper duly notarized or attested by a Gazetted Government Officer along with an attested copy of his/her CNIC/NICOP.
  • An additional reference letter from a Pakistani citizen with complete address, contact details, and Copy of CNIC.
  • Employment Verification Letter or Copy of updated Resume/Letter of Introduction, if applicable.
  • Student Verification Letter, if applicable.
  • Latest three months bank statement for proof of funds.
  • Proof of residence like State ID, Driver’s License, or one of the latest utility bills.
  • Proof of valid resident immigration status if holding other than US passport.
  • In case, a child is under 16, the Notarized Parents’ Consent form along with parents current ID and child’s birth certificate. (Parent’s consent form must be notarized).

Application Guidelines


Application Type
You can apply for two types of visas online :

First Time (New): You can apply for a new visa if you do not possess a valid Pakistan visa.

Extension: You can apply for a visa extension if your valid visa is expiring soon and you want to extend your stay while you reside in Pakistan.

Processing Time
Issuance of Visa is the prerogative of the Government of Pakistan. 7-10 Days (Working Days – First Time Entry)
