NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD FOR OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS (NICOP)
& PAKISTAN ORIGIN CARD (POC)
National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) is meant for all Pakistani citizens residing in the United States and dual nationals. It replaces the National Identity Card or NIC and is valid for 07 years.
Pakistan Original Card is meant for US nationals of Pakistan origin
Note: All senior citizens (65 years and above) will be entitled a lifetime NICOP & POC cards without expiry date. Senior citizens above 65 years of age who possess CNIC should apply for NICOP.
NICOP (National ID Card for Overseas Pakistanis)
NICOP is now a mandatory requirement for all Pakistanis working/residing abroad for more than six months and for those Pakistanis holding dual nationality. This card is obligatory for all members of the family, including children who are under the age of 18 years.
Requirements:
- Complete NICOP application form. Please fill the application form with black ink and clearly print or type in CAPITAL letters. Please do not leave any column blank)
- Please fill English and Urdu fields
- Photocopy of valid Pakistani passport first 4 pages. (for dual nationality - copy of valid USA passport also).
- Proof of residence in the US (copy of green card/visa/work authorization/driving license)
- Photocopy of the old NIC. (Front & back)
- Two(2)recent passport size photographs with front view light blue or white background
- Copy of marriage certificate (in case change of marital status of women)
- Copy of Form 'B' (RG-II) for children born in Pakistan. (If not available copy of birth certificate together with copy of father and mother NIC/CNIC).
- Father's/Mother's name - column 8-10
- Present address in USA (P.O. Box address is not acceptable) - column 23
- Permanent address in Pakistan - column 24
- Phone Number in the United States - column 25
- Fee for NICOP valid for 7 years is US$ 35 (including home delivery charges). (NADRA will directly mail the card to the applicant through DHL. DHL will not deliver the cards on P.O. Box Address) Please make separate money order or cashier's check payable to the Consulate General of Pakistan for NICOP.
- Self-addressed returned envelope for NICOP receipt.
Cancellation and Modifications Fee:

- NICOP Modification (Change)/ Reprint (Duplicate)/ Renewal

- Cancellation of NICOP
Fee: $100
- Head of family NIC/CNIC/NICOP number column 2 is compulsory. Head of family relates to the father of an unmarried applicant and the husband of married applicant. For male, it would be self, if applicant is married.
- Left hand thumb impression and signature in Column 27 of applicants are required.
- Attester information: Column No. 28-30. Any Pakistani (except blood relative) holding CNIC/NICOP can attest your form.
Children Born in USA
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Copy of valid US passport.
- Copy of Registration of birth (S-1 Form) issued by Consulate/ Embassy abroad.
- Copies of father and mother NIC/CNIC/NICOP
Applications are forwarded to NADRA, Islamabad and their processing time is 16-18 weeks.
Status of your NICOP/POC applications can be checked on NADRA website www.nadra.gov.pk after four (4) weeks of issuance of receipt through receipt number.
Note: Undelivered cards will be retained in the Consulate General of Pakistan, Los Angeles for One Year (w.e.f. date of receipt in Consulate General). Undelivered cards after one year will be returned to NADRA HQs, Islamabad.
POC (Pakistan Origin Card)
Requirements:
- Complete POC application form.
- 2 recent photographs passport size front view with white background.
- Fee for POC is (US $110 (including home delivery charges) for persons above 18 years and (US $60 (including home delivery charges) for persons below 18 years. (NADRA will directly mail the card to the applicant through DHL. DHL will not deliver the cards on P.O. Box Address). Please make separate money order or cashier’s check for POC payable to the Consulate General of Pakistan.
- Self-addressed returned envelope for POC receipt.

Fee for applicant's above 18yrs: $110
Fee for applicant's under or 18yrs: $60

- POC Modification (Change)/ Reprint (Duplicate)/ Renewal

- Cancellation of POC
Fee: $150
(Adults and Minors)
- Copy of American/Foreign passport.
- At least 1 proof of Pakistani origin status, preferably copy of Pakistani passport or NIC.
- Copy of Pakistani passport (whenever held)
- Copy of National ID Card (NIC)
- Proof of relationship with a Pakistani living in Pakistan e.g. copy of passport or CNIC. Envelope for applications sent by mail (receipt of the NICOP application. US Postal Service with tracking number is preferable.
- Present address in USA (P.O. Box address is not acceptable)
- Permanent address in Pakistan.
Note: Please surrender original CNIC card issued by NADRA if you are applying for a POC
