Machine Readable Passport

If the process of Machine-Readable Passport requires the assistance of the consulate then read the following instructions before visiting the consulate. But if the MRP (only renewal) service is needed to be done online, then click on the “Online MRP Process” button and follow the instructions to apply online for MRP.

No pre-filled Passport Application form and photograph is required to apply for a Machine Readable Passport. Applicants’ data, photographs, signatures, and biometrics are captured on the spot (Ensure that the fingerprints are not smudged). Hence, the MRP applicants must reside in our area of jurisdiction.

MRP system fetches the data from the NADRA. Therefore, possession of an original, updated, and valid Identity document issued by NADRA is Mendotory (aged 64 and above may apply for a passport with expired NADRA identity).

The validity of an MRP (5 years or 10 years) as well as its processing time (ordinary-4 weeks/ urgent- 2 weeks after the booking date) are a function of fees. The processing time in case of lost passport cases will be counted from the date of receipt of confirmation of lost passport by its issuing authority. MRPs may be issued with five-year or ten-year validity to applicants of all ages except minors below 15 years of age who are issued only 5 years of valid MRP.

The Fee Structure for various categories of MRP is as under:
